Overview and Strength:

The Hog Rider's epic ability is storming the game up until today. Teaming him up with other units is easy making it one of the most versatile cards in-game. Here we introduce another effective deck you can use starting in Arena 5.


This Clash Royale Deck relies not on only in the Hog Rider and Zap combo, giving its user more options to use the cards effectively. The cycle is fast and can make you wreck a tower if you mix your troops well on the battlefield. Both offense and defense are almost equal making your cards viable at all times.

Card Roles:

  • Hog Rider: Used to push the tower directly. His damage is strong enough to give deadly blows to its locked target. In this deck, you can make a combo with any of the troops available. Trick your enemy by dropping it unexpectedly in your chosen situations.
  • Valkyrie: Her HP and damage are strong enough to somehow weaken and/or kill any ground units within her range. Its AoE is very important, especially when defending your base. Can also work excellently in supporting your Hog Rider while pushing a tower.
  • Musketeer: The Musketeer's range is far enough to put your enemy in a hard time countering it. She can fairly deal with any air troops like the Baby Dragon or Balloon alone. Her damage is deadly that's why she can severely a tower if left unattended. Put her behind your troops while on offense to use her ability to its full extent.
  • Skeletons: For only 1 elixir, you can fairly defend with almost all of the cards in-game. Placing them in the appropriate place is easy and effective. You can use them as a distraction to any incoming troops. The Skeletons can badly reduce an unguarded tank's HP. Utilize them accordingly.
  • Cannon: One of the cheapest building card in the game. The Cannon is best used against a Hog Rider deck if played nicely. Placing this card must be timely especially against those Royal Giants deck roaming in higher arenas. Though it was nerfed in the latest update, the Cannon is still being widely used by the players up to Arena 8.
  • Elixir Collector: This will help your elixir load faster providing you good card combos in any situation. It can also serve as a distractor to any incoming troops if your Cannon is not available. The Elixir Collector will also be the cause why your cards are available immediately. It cycles your deck, making it far more effective than before.
  • Zap: The Zap is best used to support your Hog Rider while doing a push. Its mini stun is enough to kill any low HP troops instantly. It will also make a mini stun against its target providing your troops additional blows to its target. Can also be used to severely weaken the Minions or Minion hordes
  • Arrows: This Spell Card will make your enemy's swarm be killed instantly. This card will be very helpful against your enemy especially in defense. Surprise your enemy by using this in important situations only.

Clash Royale Strategy:

Make an initial move by dropping your Elixir Collector for early elixir advantage. Wait for your enemy’s answer and counter them excellently. Turn your counter troops into offensive ones. By teaming it up with the Hog Rider and Skeletons combo, this will weaken or wreck down a tower. For this move, prepare your Zap Spell to further support your Hog Rider. If a set of Minions has been dropped to stop your Hog Rider, your Zap will weaken them perfectly. Let your crown tower kill those troops as they approach to it. There might be times that they will use those dying units to make an unexpected push. To deal with this, drop the Valkyrie if against ground troops, or the Musketeer if it's in the air.

Save your Cannon until your enemy cast their trump card. Make sure to use your cards to help your Cannon to avoid those troops to directly target your crown towers. Do this kind of strategy in the first two minutes of the game. Mix your troop combination to make it difficult to counter. If you have these three cards available, the Valkyrie, Musketeer and Hog Rider, drop them in the battlefield in a particular order. Place your Valkyrie behind your King Tower, and wait until she passes your crown tower. Drop your Hog Rider near the river and immediately follow those two with your Musketeer behind. This trio is hard to counter making your enemy confused on how to deal with them effectively. Do not forget to occasionally drop your Elixir Collector. This will play an important role once the game reaches its final minute.

The start of the 60-second mark gives you the power to make an all-out push. Keep the pressure in a single tower by doing the same strategy. Once you snatched a crown tower, let your Hog Rider run in their lair to still give pressure. This will help you to defend easily as you wait for the game to end.


Deck Weakness:

Dealing with the air deck might be a challenge while utilizing this deck. Aside from your Musketeer, your Spell Cards are your only way to crash beefy air units like the Balloon or Lava Hound. Air decks are rarely used these days. But if ever you faced a lot of them, switching your Cannon to an Inferno Tower might do the trick.
