|This newest additional in Clash Royale's Spell List can turn any battles upside down. Here's how you deal our counter the Tornado!|
After the biggest leak in November update in the past weeks, the Tornado was officially revealed to be the first new Spell Card in Clash Royale. Along with the Elite Barbarians, Clone and hopefully the Electro Wizard, the game’s hype is once lit again.
This 3-elixir Spell Card falls into the Rare Class together with the Freeze, Poison Spell and the like. In this article, we will teach you how to usefully counter this game-turner card released today, in Clash Royale.
The Tornado’s ability is to absorb all incoming units at the center, forcing them to retarget nearby units. This spell also provides small damage and can buy your troops/towers the time you need to eliminate enemies accordingly. Best against any units like horde, tanks e.g the Golem, Giant, P.E.K.K.A,etc.
How to Counter the Tornado:
Using Low Elixir Units:
|Skeleton Army||Guards||Spear Goblins||Goblins||Knight|
Spamming your enemy in a single lane is one of the best counters for this spell card. Though you might use a few elixir in this strategy, forcing them to utilize the spell will free your main unit. This will increase the possibility for you to reach your target in the next wave.
Yes, tanks are also considered in forcing the enemy. If you watched some of the videos with regards to the Tornado’s use, we bet you know how your tank unit will be in trouble. But worry not, this might also trap your enemy as you prepare your supporting units to make a stronger push.
Once you learn your enemy holds this spell, drop your tank near your King’s Tower. This will help you buy time to regain Elixir. Bluff your enemy by dropping a low-elixir unit at the back of your Giant. This will make them think that you are ready to make a solid push; driving them to use the spell.
If they took your bait, try to make an opposite lane push with your available troops. You can also try to continue your initial push by making a great timing on dropping your next wave of units.
Mirror might also help if times are tough. This can be handy if your main unit is trapped in the Tornado. By letting your main unit be countered, your enemy will likely be empty handed to counter your next possible push.

Pull the troops with your Tornado spell card and get rid of them with your splashers!
In my opinion, this spell is one of the best spells in the game today. Dragging and confusing the enemy’s units will surely bring trouble breaking their strategy in every situation.
Make sure to outsmart your enemy in combining your units if you encounter a Tornado user. Once you get the rhythm of your opponent’s move, especially the cycle of its deck, countering them will be a piece of cake.
