|The Poison Spell gives your Hog Rider a chance to take on the tower while you watch your enemy troops die slowly.|
The Hog + Freeze Combo is undeniably one of the most popular strategies in Clash Royale right now. However, not everyone has a Freeze spell. In this article, we will look at the Poison Hog strategy, another combo but this time, we pair the Hog Rider with the Poison Spell.

Through the use of your Poison Spell, any low HP troops can be wiped out without any help from your existing troops most of the time. This spell can seriously damage any building cards placed by your opponent, giving your Hog Rider the chance to enter and wreck that chosen tower of yours. The other cards fairly blend each other by helping you go to offense or defense easily.
Hog Rider + Poison Spell Deck — Arena 5:
|Hog Rider||Poison Spell||Musketeer||Barbarians|
|Spear Goblins||Minion Horde||Minions||Inferno Tower|
Minion Horde. These flying monsters will help you defeat any bulky troops that will wreck your towers. They can also be your range troop and building eliminator throughout your gameplay. Use them to outsmart your opponent all way long.
Minions. By dropping this card, you can trigger your opponent to drop their Arrows or Fireball, leaving them a hand without a counter card once you followed it with the Minion Horde.
Barbarians. Will always be ready for a riot. Barbs can be used in either offense or defense. But in this deck, you can mainly use them as your defense and support card bringing pressure once you paired them with the Hog Rider, as well.
Spear Goblins. A very cheap card but does a fair amount of damage in a tower. The Spear Goblins can also be used in knocking down any flying troops with the support of your other troops or crown towers. You can also use them to distract any incoming troops, thus buying time for your tower(s) or other troops to kill them.
Musketeer. Armed with a high attack and nice range, Musketeers can help your Hog Rider bring down a tower in a shorter period of time. It can be easily distracted but can be used well if placed at the back of any tank troops.
Hog Rider. Your main troop who is in charge in devastating a tower. With his fair HP and strong damage, he is definitely a very handy troop up until higher arenas.
Poison Spell. This spell will release poison that will distress those troops and make them slow, all while their HPs are being sucked. Place it in the middle part if a building card was dropped in the center of the enemy’s lair. You can hit two birds with one stone or if lucky, even those pesky troops will also become your victim.
Inferno Tower. As time passes by in hitting a single target, the stronger the damage it releases. This tower will be your main distraction in almost everything in the battle. Save it if needed through your Minions or Minion Horde.
Clash Royale Strategy:
Make use of your Spear Goblins to run first in the game for you to analyze the cards of your opponent’s. By dropping them earlier, you can make a small damage in the tower giving them the cue that it will be the tower that you plan to wreck.
If your opponent dropped any building cards in the center of their base, quickly knock it down by dropping your Minions first to trigger your opponent to drop their Arrows or Fireball. You can deal with those damage soakers (e.g Giant, Barbarians, Giant Skeleton) without any damage by using your Minion Horde. To distract these kinds of troops, drop your Inferno Tower in the middle part of your base then drop your Minion Horde afterwards. If you ran out of elixir, you can also use your Spear Goblins for support. Your Barbarians will be in-charge in killing those troops supporting their tanks while making a push in your base. If successfully done, you can choose a lane that is free and unguarded to establish your Hog + Poison combo.
According to the recommendation of the original user, drop your Poison towards the center of the crown tower and if your opponent drops a building tower (e.g Bomb Tower, Cannon) to stop your Hog Rider, you can make those two buildings lower their HPs in a limited time. Utilize your Musketeer by making her as your main backup so she can use her attack in full extent. Repeat the usage of your Poison Spell so at the end, your spell will grab that one crown for victory.

A well placed Poison Spell can severely damage towers overtime. However, once your opponent learn this kind of strategy, they will be keen and will surely make a distance in dropping their building cards. Also, if they learn that you brought a Minion Horde together with your Minions, they will just let your Minions do a little damage against their towers while waiting for you to drop your Horde.
Due to the deck’s nature, aside from the Hog + Poison, we recommend to always make a combo if possible while pushing a tower to create pressure giving you more time in using your low elixir troops. They can easily be wiped out if used initially in pushing, marking your elixir in a disadvantageous position. Scattering them will also be a good move but make sure to do this once your opponent ran out of Elixir.

With the proper use of this kind of combo, you must prepare in practicing and making further strategy using this deck to use it to its full potential. As of the moment, only few players are using this kind of deck, giving them the advantage to bag more trophies in the higher league because they know how to utilize it properly.

- Inferno should be changed to cannon/tesla because they are lower cost and this deck already had barbarians and minion horde to counter those tanky troops inferno is needed for.There is no real spell bait in this deck so minion horde + minions is a russian roulette and I think changing the normal minions to zap or arrows would make it better since poison is needed for the push and when your opponent figures out that that's the only spell in the deck they can easily utilize minion horde/skeleton army -- 03:43, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
