Overview:

Are you tired playing a common Hog Cycle deck? Let’s try to spice your deck with the sneaky ability of the Bandit with this featured deck created in the Legendary Arena by Peixetro Games.

This deck is strong against co-Hog Rider cycle, bait and slow push decks. It can also fairly deal with Lava Hound decks and the like.

Card Roles:

  • Hog Rider - Your main tower attacker. Equip this card with any of your best supports in this set of cards to increase its chance of reaching a tower.
  • Bandit - The Bandit will serve as your trump card in this deck. It can deal a lot of damage alone if left ignored. Surprise your enemy by letting it support your live cards on the battlefield.
  • Musketeer - Will serve as your support in both offense and defense. Place it behind your tower or troops to extend its ability further.
  • Minions - Your added support for the Hog Rider. Just like the Musketeers, it can help you out defend in both air and ground. It can also chip in great damage against towers.
  • Ice Golem - The Ice Golem will be your mini tank. It can absorb all the damage your enemy will possibly throw to your Hog Rider. It can also weaken or completely wipe out swarm troops like the Skarmy and/or the Minion Horde. Also useful in kiting big threats like the Elite Barbarians or Mini PEKKA.
  • Fireball - Your heavy spell in dealing with dying towers, Barbarians, Three Musketeers and/or a team of incoming troops.
  • Zap - Mainly use to support the Hog Rider. Clear low HP swarms like the Goblin Gang and Skeleton Army in a snap using this spell.
  • Cannon - Big threat distractor. Lure tower wreckers by planting this defensive tower on a great timing.

Clash Royale Strategy:

Ideal Strategy:

The ideal play of this deck is to have the Ice Golem and Hog Rider early in your hands. You must put pressure and chip in acceptable damage to gain advantage against the enemy. Create big counter pushes as you defend and finish the enemy with the Zap or Fireball in the last seconds of the game.

Offense:

With this deck, you can create a strong push with the Ice Golem and Hog Rider. Prepare the Zap Spell if the enemy tries to stop you with the Minion Horde or Skeleton Army. In some situations, you can also pair the Hog Rider with the Minions. If the Bandit is available, you can make it visible by supporting the Hog. You can use the Bandit’s ability if the enemy has a building to stop your push. The Bandit’s dash and damage will heavily influence the Hog Rider’s success in reaching a targeted tower afterwards.

If the enemy is playing a slow push deck, you can bomb their splasher with the Fireball. Most players deploy their splasher (e.g Wizard, Witch) behind the King Tower. Before it passes through a crown tower, cast the Fireball for a positive elixir trade.

Defense:

For defense, you can use the Cannon to lure incoming troops. Make sure to plant it in a great spot to distract your target. Let the Minions or the Musketeer help you out defeat threats accordingly.

If you are dealing with the Elite Barbarians, you can use the Ice Golem to kite them away from their initial target. Deploy troops to kill them if necessary. You can also cast the Fireball on a team of troops. If in need, drop the Zap to finish them off.

If fighting with a Hound and Minion Horde combo, you can drop the Ice Golem on the horde. Once it pops, cast the Zap Spell to kill them. Let the Musketeer and/or Minions in killing the Lava Hound/Pups later on. Create a strong counter-push with the Hog Rider later on.

Additional Tip:

Before using the Zap and/or Fireball, make sure that you are prepared for the enemy’s answer afterwards. If hesitant to cast them early, especially the Fireball, we recommend you to study the enemy’s deck first before anything else.

Weakness:

This deck might face trouble if played against Royal Giant Decks and Air Swarmer Decks.

Overall:

Honestly, I do consider this deck as a breath of fresh air. Even though the Hog Rider is this set of cards’ main player, it is still useful with the Bandit alone in some situations. I hope Supercell buffs the Bandit in their upcoming updates. I am looking forward for her AoE dash in the future. What do you guys think? Share your insights in our comment section below!
