Crush your foes in both ladder and challenge, especially the Crown Championship Challenge with this Miner Poison Deck.

Overview and Strength:

This deck was originally posted by Chief Pat himself when it was the hay day of the Poison spell around February 2017. The August 2017 Balance Update has changed the Clash Royale Arena and this deck fits it well. It only has 3.1 average elixir cost too so you can out cycle your opponent every time.

The strength of this deck is its ability to control the opponent to your advantage. It has the Inferno Tower for those chunky units such as the Giant and the Golem. Your Knight, Electro Wizard, and Bandit can take care of a Hog Rider. This will also be your set up for a counter-push.

3.1 Miner Poison Control Deck:

Card Roles:

  • Bandit - She is one of the main cards that must charge towards the enemy's tower after countering.
  • Electro Wizard - Great counter card that can also join your counter-push. Use him against Infernos and against Hog Riders.
  • Ice Spirit - Cheap cycle card that also has the ability to freeze. You can use it against any incoming pushes to give your Inferno Tower time to roast them.
  • Inferno Tower - Defense building. Mainly used against Golems, Giants, and Lava Hound. You can also plant it during double elixir time to guard your base.
  • Knight - The tanker of your team. Place him in front of your Bandit and Electro Wizard.
  • Miner - Use him for a direct tower damage. You can also use him to save your push with the Bandit and Electro Wizard.
  • Poison - Great card to use against swarm units and to chip damage to an opponent's tower and building.
  • The Log - Pushes back foes. You can use it against Three Musketeers to keep them inside the Poison's radius. Make sure they don't have the Heal spell though.

Clash Royale Strategy:

Ideal Strategy:

The Ideal Strategy of this deck is to gain an elixir advantage towards your enemy. This deck is only 3.1 so you have to play smart. The main group here is your Knight, Bandit, and Electro Wizard push. You can also have the Miner to save the push and then add the Poison if you can. Although risky, it can eliminate common cheap swarm units.

Start slow or wait for your opponent to push. If you're facing a Hog Rider deck, you can use your Knight and your Electro Wizard and your Bandit to counter. Sway away from the Inferno Tower, unless it's necessary. Using your chunky troops to counter is a great way to start your counter-push. You can then deploy your Miner towards their tower or save your elixirs for another push/counter-push.

Since this deck doesn't have extra tanky units, you have to rely on great placement. Use your Ice Spirit to lure and to freeze and then use your Knight together with the squad. If you're facing a Three Musketeers deck, don't use the Poison if you know they have the Heal spell. Instead, use the Ice Spirit to freeze them and then drop your Knight on top of them and then your Electro Wizard plus the Bandit to finish them off.

Do not over commit! This is a control deck and not a beatdown deck. Start really slow and continue defending and counter-pushing. The trick of this deck is to have a good elixir advantage. This deck shines in double elixir as you can spam your way with units and even do the Miner + Poison strategy.

Watch Chief Pat using this deck in Tournaments and he even hinted that he might also use this in CCGS.

You can also watch SirTAG as he gives additional tips on how to face Three Musketeers, Siege decks etc with this deck. He used this deck in CCGS and won 20-1.

Final Overview:

Aside from Pompeyo Bats Miner-Loon Deck, this the deck I am currently using in Arena 10 - Hog Mountain. It has a win ratio of 8/10 for me. You just have to play smart and keep track of your opponent's cards. I also sometimes do a predictive The Log if I know the opponent has swarm units such as the Skeleton Army or Goblin Gang. As I don't have my X-Bow and Mortar in a good tourney level, this is the deck that I will use in CCGS.
