Overview and Strength:

The Goblin Barrel Spell Bait Cycle Deck is one of the most popular decks during the CCGS Fall Challenge. It has a very high win rate and is on top of the food chain based from In this deck CLASHwithSHANE features his own version of the Goblin Barrel spell bait cycle in Arena 11 - Legendary Arena.

The Strength of this deck is that it is really fast and has enough counter to any incoming units. It only has a 2.9 average elixir cost that you can always cycle back to your Goblin Barrel. It is also really annoying as you can drop counters quick.

Card Roles:

  • Bats - Cheap units that are really effective against ground troops. They are usually countered by Zap.
  • Fireball - Your main counter against the Minion Horde or against a slow push.
  • Goblin Barrel - Main win condition card. Use it after baiting your opponent's The Log or Zap. Sometimes you need to deploy them at the far corner of the opponent's base.
  • Goblin Gang - An unstoppable force that needs to be either The Logged or destroyed by AoE units. Use them at the start of the push to bait out spells.
  • Inferno Tower - Defense building against tower-locking troops and especially tankers.
  • Knight - The tanker of the deck. Use him against AoE troops. You should have him at least at level 10 or 11. He can also tank for cheap units that survived the counter or a tank for your Goblin Barrel.
  • Skeletons - While an incoming tank or Hog Rider is lured by the Inferno Tower, the cheap Skeletons can whittle them away.
  • Zap - Usually used against cheap units such as Bats or other unit's swarm troops.

Clash Royale Strategy:

Ideal Strategy:

The Ideal Strategy of this deck is to bait out your opponent's spells by using your support cards. You can use the Bats and Goblin Gang. You may initially want to bait it out with your Goblin Gang by dropping them at the bridge to deal splash damage. This might surprise your opponent and let out The Log. If they do, deploy your Goblin Barrel to deal chip damage. Cycle through out your cards, rinse and repeat.

Start by baiting out your opponent's spells by deploying the Goblin Gang at the bridge. If they counter with a spell, go with a Goblin Barrel. If they use an AoE unit, use your Knight to counter and lure and drop your Bats on top. Once the Knight already has the Tower Archer's attention, deploy the Goblin Barrel. Take note of your opponent's spells and AoE troops. Sometimes, you can also use the Fireball against them. Make sure to also target the opponent's tower.

This deck is full of defense cards. Use the Inferno Tower against tanks and Hog Riders. Add the Skeletons to quickly get rid of them. If you're facing an AoE unit, use your Knight to distract and then add the Bats carefully.

As your cards are low HP units, AoE or splash units are its weakness. If you're facing them, make use of the Knight's tankiness. Don't get its cheapness go into your head. Make smart plays and you will rarely lose the game. Take note of the cards your opponent has, especially his/her win condition card and keep the counter against it in your hand. Continue with your Goblin Barrel push.

Final Overview:

I am currently using this deck in Arena 10 - Hog Mountain. Since I don't have my Goblin Gang leveled up, I'm using the Dart Goblin. Trust me, this substitution can work wonders! It's funny how players usually disregard the Dart Goblin. This sub, is also effective against the Graveyard and of course, the Night Witch. And as CLASHwithSHANE shares in his video, it is extremely fun to use! I might keep this in one of my 5 decks.
